All about April.....

All about me... Well where do I start. First off, I have never even seen a blog so this is a little scary for me!! My name is April Kristin Baker, and I am sure for those of you who know me, you are imagining me saying my name and laughing thinking of how it sounds. I was born and raised in the small West TEXAS town of Snyder (Sniiiider)! I love west Texas and will never call any other place home! I graduated this May with my masters in Speech Pathology from the University of Texas at Dallas. I graduated with my undergrad in Speech Path from ACU! Life right now is a little crazy as I am trying to find my first job out of school before I head out to camp! Like Sallie I was a big Paula fan as well, but I never charged for my performances. They always occurred on our family's stage, the fire place, I was the first American Idol star performing songs byDebbie Gibson, Tiffany, Millie Vanillie, and Box Car Willie singing Poor ol' Elijah! The neighbors would come over for free and listen to me!!! As I have gotten older, the stage is still my friend ranging from musicals to tap dancing performances!! Enough with the jibber jabber! Shiloh has changed my life in a way that nothing else ever has. To be able to love children for an entire summer is the biggest blessing the Lord could have ever given me. I can't wait to see and hear that first bus come down the road and see all of the smiling faces that will step off of that bus! The Lord is going to do awesome things this summer and I am so blessed to be able to be a part of them! I can't wait to meet each and everyone of you and will be praying for you as you begin preparing your hearts for these amazing children! Keep each one of the Shiloh children in your prayers and in your hearts and just get ready for the best summer you can imagine!

Are You Ready?

2005 has sped through like a run away frieght train. It is hard to believe that is already late May. Very soon it will be mid June and it will be time to leave for camp. As we begin this blog there is one question I want to ask, "Are you ready?"

Are you ready for 15hr work days?

Are you ready for sleepless nights?

Are you ready for toilets that don't flush?

Are you ready for it to rain 7 days straight?

Are you ready for cold showers?

Are you ready for no running water?

Are the guys ready to break up fights every 2 minutes?

Are the girls ready to stop the constant gossip and dirty looks?

Are you ready to be cursed at?

Are you ready to be disrespected?

Are you ready to be exhausted?

Again I ask, "Are you ready?"
